Abode Mumbai
-
Where:
- Why:First stop off on a train odyssey around the subcontinent.
- When:December 2014
- Who:Me and my better half.
Highs & Lows
-
Location couldn’t be better. Slap bang in the middle of the Mumbai mayhem.
-
The interior is spot on: rose-tinted mirrors, bakelite switches, black and white tiled floors, frosted glass doors and low chrome ceiling fans.
-
Our bathroom was in an enclosed glass veranda overlooking the street below and the Bombay Yacht Club.
-
Supreme lime waters; we drank about 12 of these a day in the hotel as a refreshing chaser to the heat outside.
-
The hotel was extremely socially and environmentally aware: they use a taxi firm that employs female drivers for airport drop-off and collection and most hotel rubbish is recycled.
-
Food menu looked great but only half of the dishes were available during our stay :(
