Cioa G-Rough! Exploring Rome from here is nothing but a dolce dolce treat
Checking into G-Rough is like dipping into a Wes Anderson scene. The reception is a delight. The 10 rooms have each been designed by a different person, the cute portraits and the names are used instead of numbers
Oh geez, this parchment bed frame is a show stopper. The patchwork of rustic-chic design, mid century furniture, the 400 year old Roman property with exposed concrete walls and contemporary art pieces really make G-Rough a memorable place
Inspector Gadget inspecting the premises. I think he is looking for the TV, which is hiding behind the “Fine” mixed fabric cover. I’m definitely doing that when I get myself a television set. …on the second thought, I should just probably get the fabric cover
The minibar lives in the Smeg mini fridge and consists of prosciutto, wine, crackers, some artisanal Italian chocolates and crisps. Perfect picnic in Roman ruins is calling my name. Another thing calling my name is the stairs that lead to…
…our own bar?! That’s a first! After hours at our hotel room ragazzi!
If the in-room bar wasn’t enough, it comes with a terrace where my Inspector Gadget was lurking in the bushes, looking for clues for a good aperitivo
Our room was called Guglielmo. I don’t care if it’s incorrect, but pronouncing it Googlee-Elmo is just too much fun!
The Gallery Bar was on everyones lips whilst suggesting Inspector Gadget and I watering holes in Rome. Cool, mirrored and shiny it served some great cocktails on the side of our friends serving us some great jokes
Yup, she can feel those cocktails alright. But the disco bathroom and the linen bathrobe made the start of the day so much less painful. Malin+Goetz refill toiletries were also a good addition
The Gallery Bar on the other side of the night. It serves as a lobby, bar and breakfast spot, oh and a mood booster with that golden Italian flair
You know the Italians are not the pioneers of amazing breakfasts, but IG and I are also not pioneers at eating it, so “un cafe lungo per fevore” and we’re ready to bounce

Made for design enthusiasts. Not only the interior, but the 1600s building shines though with exposed ceiling beams, frescos and original floor tiles

Location is prime. So central and easy to access all of the Roman fun stuff, the sights, shops, bars, restaurants, all on your door step

The food is not amazing, but to be honest that’s almost a good thing, as there are just too many trattorias to eat at in Rome
