Highs & Lows
-
The 17th century building itself is so beautiful. One may dream of living in a place like that. It's a classic Cartagena experience. Very romantic.
-
The rooftop area and pool are wonderful amenities. Lounge around and swim during the day, and have drinks or dinner at night under the moon and stars.
-
Centrally located, in walking distance to everything that Cartagena has to offer. You may only need a taxi to/from the airport. Just make sure to arrange pickups with the hotel beforehand.
-
The interior design is outstanding. It is intentional and never pretentious. The owners spent time in Bali and you can see many influences in the décor.
-
Sorry pet owners, no pups allowed.

Future Forward
Amarla supports two local foundations that do great work in the community with positive impact on the people and wildlife of Cartagena. Inspiring the young with Colegio Del Cuerpo — a foundation that has had over 8,000 young people pass through their program. They focus on teaching disenfranchised youngsters about opportunities beyond the perceived socio-economic limits through dance. Their top dancers travel the world and perform in cities such as New York and Seoul. The second is Dones de Misericordia — a local charity that runs an orphanage, social programs for the young people of Tierra Bomba, one of Cartagena’s poorest and most overlooked communities, and a home for elderly people who are found living on the streets or without help from family, friends, or the government
