Important Bits

  • Type

    Good-sized boutique hotel.

  • Vibe

Built in 1926, the hotel’s vaulted ceilings, crown moldings and original mail chutes are reminiscent of the city’s Jazz Age but somehow still blend seamlessly with the contemporary art and furniture.

  • Location

In the heart of Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood.

  • Rooms

    285

  • Music

    None noticeable.

  • Year Opened

1926. But it was just acquired by Journal Hotels and rebranded last year!

  • Health & Wellness

No pool, but there is a small gym and the hotel is pet friendly.

  • Restaurant

Booth One Restaurant is fantastic…the Library is open daily for breakfast and for lunch on the weekends.

  • Bar

Yes, great bar in Booth One that was bumpin’ on the Thursday of our stay.

  • Minibar

Mini bar is fully stocked plus six ready to drink craft cocktail options to choose from.

  • Children

The hotel’s historic charm feels more romantic than family-friendly. But bring your dog! I befriended two beautiful golden doodles in the lobby.

  • Price

    Affordable luxury.
