- Who:Me and my boyfriend.
Highs & Lows
-
The lobby, the restaurant (MASSONI) and bar (BARlo) are so impeccably and uniquely designed. I love the peaceful “library” on the second floor - massive, great natural lighting, funky furniture and art, super chill vibes.
-
The breakfast at MASSONI was superb. I could have their polenta pancakes paired with a Liquiteria juice (get the Grasshopper, obviously) all day, everyday.
-
The lobby-located “Bodega” is 24/7 hours - offering JOE coffee, eclectic savory bites (like the Koreatown-friendly “True Gentlemen Korean BBQ Jerky”) and sweet mouth watering-inducing treats (via chocolatiers like Nunu, Liddabit, and Cacao Prieto). I highly recommend MOUTH’s (to die for!) Flat White chocolate bar.
-
I regret not having MASSONI’s self-described “inauthentic Italian” dinner after our Italian-born waitress at breakfast filled us in on its deliciousness. She had me at “Italian/Asian fusion.”
-
As for Arlo NoMad’s best highlight? The bed and those city views! It literally feels like you’re sleeping on air.
-
No room service, but I didn’t mind considering the “Bodega” in the lobby is 24/7. (You’ve got to get the Chicago-y pizza. The sauce is delish.)
-
I wish there was a bathtub. And I wish I could steal the great Blind Barber products (the shampoo, conditioner and body wash are secured to the shower’s wall.) However, you can snatch a bar of soap and the moisturizer, which I’m lathered up in right now.
-
Rooms are on the small side, but the Instagram-friendly view, the price and the dream bed totally make up for it.
