Highs & Lows
-
Baglioni has a property in the heart of most of Italy's most popular cities, which makes it really easy to plan a trip in a single swoop and get the same great level of service and familiarity throughout. At the same time, each hotel has its own unique character, so it's far from a cookie cutter experience.
-
The brand is family owned and operated, and it really shows in the staff's personality and anticipation of guests' needs. Case in point- when I approached the front desk in running sneakers and headphones early one morning, the concierge had already pulled out a map with suggested running routes before I even asked.
-
The hotel is very centralized; most attractions are reachable on foot if not a short cab ride.
-
The design might feel a bit formal to the modern traveler, but there's something so welcomingly Italian about the poshness: it makes you want to spiff up your look and dress the way people did before yoga pants became acceptable in public.
