Highs & Lows

  • The live music during aperitivo hour was my favorite part of the day.

  • The sculptures and art scattered throughout the hotel — including works by Miró — were inspiring and beautiful. I also loved exploring the artist-in-residence sculpture studio.

  • The manicured grounds of the property are simply breathtaking — replete with lemon and fig trees — with incredible views of both the mountains and sea.

  • The service and attention to detail was spectacular.

  • This is an amazing place to connect and learn more about art history.

  • For booking off-site activities and restaurants, communication with the concierge was not as smooth as I would have hoped.

Important Bits

  • Type

    Traditional Mallorcan-style Hotel

  • Vibe

Extravagant yet peaceful in the dreamiest setting

  • Location

    In the heart of Deià

  • Rooms

71 rooms and suites, 1 villa

  • Pre-Arrival & Arrival Experience

My family and I had a great check-in experience. We received a tour of the grounds and were offered after-hours breakfast upon arrival

  • Future Forward

They have an amazing artist residency program, and they also feature works by Joan Miró throughout the property. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the artists, Juan Waelder. He is an incredible sculptor and we had an amazing chat

  • Music

Beautiful live music at aperitivo hour

  • Year Opened

The hotel consists of several buildings — a late 14th century watchtower, two ancient manor houses (Son Canals and Son Moragues — early and late 16th century) plus more recent buildings that were added throughout the years. The original buildings were turned into a hotel in 1984

  • Designed By

All interiors and exteriors of the hotel are in traditional Mallorcan architectural style. The buildings were converted into a hotel in 1984, maintaining as many original features as possible. One of the main interior designers was Antonio Obrador, and later refurbishments were commissioned to Interior Designer Inge Moore (Muza Lab) and Michelle Jouanett

  • Health & Wellness

They have a luxurious spa with six treatment rooms, an indoor pool, jacuzzi and gym. They also have tennis courts and pottery workshops. I personally did not have a need to book a spa treatment as the Mediterranean sea was my spa

  • Food

They have two restaurants on the grounds, El Olivo and Cafe Miró, which offer a daily breakfast buffet, lunch, live music, and a poolside bar. The breakfast was our favorite!

  • Bar, Events & Nightlife

    Aperitivo hour was delicious

  • Minibar & Retail

Our private villa had a stocked kitchen including jamon, fruits and local delights like a variety of flaky Mallorcan sea salts — no minibar needed

  • Accessibility

They have two rooms on the ground floor which are more easily accessible with a wheelchair, and you can reach every room in 2 buildings with elevators. The property is not ideal for people with walking disabilities

  • Pet Friendly

Yes! So happy I was able to bring our fourth family member, Tuco!

  • Children

    Yes

  • Price

Certainly on the expensive side, but well worth it!
