Welcome to Cavallo Point. Part of the National Register of Historic Places and nestled on a breathtaking 10 acre setting, it was originally home to the Army post Fort Baker which, was active through World War II.

There's so much to do right on property you can really fix up a nice retreat. Between the spa, cooking classes, nature walks and art talks, the programming is extensive and well-curated.

They set a great example with environmental conservation. Their commitment to sustainability is seen everywhere, from solar panels & organic bedding to raising awareness through numerous programs at the Institute at the Golden Gate.

The option to choose between historic vs. modern lodging means something for every taste.

No screens on the windows in the historic rooms made me weary of opening them up to bring in the cool bay breeze.
