Goldeneye Beach Huts
- Where:
- Why:Long overdue holiday!
- When:April 2016
- Who:Me and Ben
Highs & Lows
-
The Beach Huts themselves are truly stunning; they are very well designed with all the required amenities, the beds are huge and very comfortable, the porch is just lovely and we loved that there was no air-con, just the louvered windows acting as a ‘natural air-con’.
-
Snorkeling everyday with Donald was my daily highlight. GoldenEye has set up the Oracabessa Fish Sanctuary in the sea surrounding GoldenEye. New corals are growing in the sea and they have seen a real growth in fish living in the area, so lots to see!
-
Pick your Beach Hut carefully, you could be looking out onto other beach huts or nothing much in particular. Make sure you book one facing the sea.

Health & Wellness
The Beach Huts have their own pool and you can also go and use the main pool. But, GoldenEye is right on the sea! The Beach Hut we stayed in overlooked the tranquil Snorkeler’s Cove.
-
Restaurant
Breakfast and lunch is served in Bizot Bar overlooking the sea. For dinner the hotel opens up either Bizot Bar or The Gazebo, or puts on something different. While we were there they invited a Japanese chef from Kingston, the sushi was pretty good! Food can be ordered and delivered to your Beach Hut too.
-
Bar
The Beach Huts has its own bar, Shabeen Bar, with big day beds, table football, screen and outdoor seating. No food was served there while we stayed, but they had only just opened and we heard about great plans to open a roof terrace bar and BBQ on top of Shabeen Bar.
-
Minibar
Yes, best bits of the mini bar had to be Chris Blackwell’s own rum, Black Gold, with ginger ale…so good! And of course a bag of St Mary’s Plantain Chips.
-
Children
Yes absolutely. Some of the beach huts are on two floors so you can have more than one bedroom. These also have lovely ‘family areas’ with a small kitchen and seating area all beautifully designed.
-
Price
From $400 in low season.
