Highs & Lows
-
Homestay feel. You feel like you are in someone's home and you are treated that way. It's casual, cool, and very family oriented.
-
Fresh veggies from the garden and really light, healthy meals.
-
The view. Really, can't be beaten. Hot air balloons are out at 5 am, the birds are singing, and the hills roll for as long as the eye can see.
-
Brenda organized a paella night for us with a Spanish chef and classical guitar player, that level of detail and service is so nice to have.
-
Impeccable design and artifacts from around the world. Loved seeing all the countries the owners visited while sailing around the world reflected in the home decor.
-
Having to carry our own luggage up multiple flights of stairs.
-
The heat! It was well over 100 degrees during the day, be aware that it's normal in August for it to get that hot and the finca has no ac.

Pre-Arrival & Arrival Experience
It's not like a hotel. You kind of have to find your way around, carry your own luggage and make yourself at home!
-
Future Forward
Very regenerative. The food comes straight from the garden and they have a self-sufficient energy system
-
Music
I made a special playlist for this trip and we played in on Repeat. Of course it's called Mallorca. Lots of Spanish guitar, Bossa nova, cumbia and jazz

Designed By
Owners Roland and Brenda Ooteman, who discovered the finca in 2011 while on a sailing trip. It was then a ruin with a million dollar view. They poured years of work into creating this perfect oasis, with interiors inspired by their worldly explorations
-
Health & Wellness
Infinity pool facing the rolling hills, yoga deck and plenty of walking trails nearby
-
Food
Farm to table, mostly veggies from the garden, paella, fresh fish and Spanish tortillas. Bliss!
-
Bar, Events & Nightlife
The home is pretty much a destination on its own, we did not venture out at night but had our own Negroni dance parties under the moonlight
-
Minibar & Retail
As it's not a traditional hotel and more of a homestay, we had a honor bar system where you wrote down how many wines you had and paid at the end of the week. Brenda made sure we always had a full fridge!

It's located in Montuiri, which is smack in the middle of the island. The pros — you can get to pretty much anywhere in Mallorca in under an hour. The cons — you're not on the seaside. However, I loved having this inland experience where we were surrounded by fields and mountains, it's quiet, serene, and tourist-free.
