Highs & Lows
-
Location is amazing — driving distance from Hudson, Woodstock, Catskill and many other towns in Upstate NY
-
Design and attention to details: from the furniture to the bathrobe, everything is well curated.
-
The spa has exactly what you need. Yoga, steamer, sauna and a pool, what more could you ask for to feel relaxed?
-
Morning coffee with the view, plus everything you need to brew your own cup was provided in the room!
-
We wish they could provide more food options, especially for breakfast
-
There are so many things around to explore like hikes, art galleries, restaurants, etc. It would be really helpful to get a bit of guidance from the hotel
Important Bits
-
Type
Feels like a rural retreat in the middle of the forest. The property is divided between the cabins scattered in nature and the main lobby, which is in the same building as the spa
-
Vibe
A curated escape from the city where design is an extension of nature. A beautiful blend between Japanese and Scandinavian designs
-
Location
The cabins are nestled into the forest and open sky, yet only 20 minutes away from the beautiful town of Hudson

Pre-Arrival & Arrival Experience
Tt was very easy and smooth. The website is well done, and has useful information. They could, however, do a better job at mentioning their spa menu, activities and F&B. I asked for restaurant recommendations, as well as spa menu, prior to arrival and they emailed me some information, but it would be nice to have some of it on the website
-
Future Forward
Ecologically determined design. Local bluestone & untreated wood are used in the cabins. The property's development was keen on encouraging and preserving what was native and natural to the land
-
Music
You have your own systems in the cabins but the quietness and the sound of the natural elements are sufficient to make you relax

Health & Wellness
Beautifully designed pool, yoga room, sauna and a steamer with a framed view that looks like a painting
-
Food
Dinners and warm breakfast are available only on weekends. During the week, simple breakfast is served, which includes granola, coconut yoghurt and coffee. If you go during the week, it can feel rather quiet. Make sure to plan dinners in the area
-
Bar, Events & Nightlife
Not much. It's made for privacy and to relax
-
Minibar & Retail
Nice selection of independent and curated brands of snacks. Freshly ground coffee and a V60 coffee maker available in the cabin so you can make you own morning cup
-
Accessibility
Hotel lobby is easily accessible but there is a walk on gravel to get to the cabins
-

Hotel Location Piaule Catskill, Mossy Hill Road, Catskill, NY, USA
Piaule is located next to the village of Catskill, NY. It's a good 2 hour drive north from New York City, along the Hudson River. It's very close to a lot of nice towns such as Hudson and Kingston, but it is "remote" enough so you also feel disconnected, and surrounded by nature.
