Highs & Lows
-
I stayed in a sleek and minimal designed king suite terrace. Spacious! Quiet! Amazing city views via the private outdoor terrace. PS Get your room service on -- there’s two lounge chairs and a table outside.
-
There were two LCD flat-screen TVs…?! One in the bedroom, and another directly on the other side like eight steps away in the living room. Unnecessary but awesome!
-
A big bath!
-
Cool designs. Loved the industrial-ish lights in the bedroom. Loved the funky albeit comfy furniture. Loved the natural light during the day. Even loved the glowing headboard -- thought it would keep me up at night, but super calming.
-
The bed, while big, was a bit too hard for me. Great pillows and comforter/sheets though.

Yeah, I heard indie jams -- in the elevator, in the lobby, outside in the front of the hotel. But not offensively loud.

Designed By
Seems like a lot were involved. According to their site, Lee Friedlander made those (really cool and somehow calming) glowing bed headboards; Jim Walrod was the man behind the interior design elements.
-
Health & Wellness
Yes. And the *guest only* pool is always quite the *cool kid* destination in the summer. Very Instagram-friendly. See also: Andy Warhol’s visage looks up from the pool’s bottom.
-
Restaurant
Blue Ribbon Sushi Izakaya. It was too crowded (Friday night) and I’m broke, so I opted for a Vietnamese hole-in-the-wall.
-
Bar
Yes, the very popular rooftop bar AKA Tiki Tabu replete with “tongue-in-cheek tropical flair” and “lush tropical plants” etc etc. TT host tons of fashion-y parties and book cool DJ’s.
-
Minibar
Popchips, Clif bars, bacon popcorn. (Also, a designer condom.) Then there’s alcohol, vitamin waters, etc. But it’s all about the can of RISE Nitro cold brew coffee. So strong, so good.
-
Children
No please.
-
Price
What you’d expect from a modern and luxe LES-located hotel. (Expensive.)
