The Gunton Arms when we arrived in the glorious winter afternoon sunlight.
We got the last room in the house, so this is the smallest room, but we loved it.
The bathroom with Cowshed amenities.
We loved the brilliantly curated art at The Gunton Arms. From traditional ‘pub’ art to contemporary works, this dining room is, of course, called the Tracey Emin Room.

The welcoming entrance hall with a blazing fire and lovely leather furniture.
The next-door dining room is the Elk Room, with its fully working fire for the chef. Lots of beef cooking for someone’s dinner here.
We relaxed with a cup of tea in the afternoon and whiskey after dinner in this cosy guest’s lounge.
The upstairs landing, like the rest of The Gunton Arms has been thoughtfully and lovingly designed, we loved their wallpapers and fabrics.

Attention to detail – every room had a different wallpaper and luxurious fabrics, vintage light switches, carefully chosen lamps and comfortable furnishings.

We loved the juxtaposition of contemporary art (one of the dining rooms is called the ‘Tracey Emin Room’) with traditional ‘pub’ art and pub vibe.

Open hearth dining room, home-smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast, friendly and attentive staff all come together to make this a really warm and welcoming country retreat.

Our room overlooked the roof terrace, which we can imagine could be quite noisy and disruptive in the summer months.
