The Hollywood Roosevelt A peek into Public. The Roosevelt's signature restaurant has a modern brasserie vibe and serves up fine comfort food. (The bolognese was beyond...take that, Chateau).

Highs & Lows

  • There's really so much to do under their roof it's a great place to stay and wander from the room to dinner to drinks to bowling, to more drinks...you see where this is going.

  • They bring in quite cool programming. While we were there LA's inaugural Vulture Fest was happening and we got to catch a talk by Transparent's Jill Solloway.

  • While the historic architecture is charming, double paned windows weren't a thing in the 20s hence lots of street noise from bustling Hollywood Blvd creeping into your room at night. If you like it super quiet, ask for a room that doesn't face the tourist madness below.

    Smack dab on the Hollywood strip where you're certain to see Elvis and Jack Sparrow hanging out at the Coffee Bean next door.

    300- including 240 rooms & suites in the Tower and 60 bungalow style Cabanas surrounding the pool.

    None in the common areas but the DJ at Spare Room that night brought a fun mix of everything from 80s freestyle to hip hop.

    Originally opened in 1927, the hotel underwent a $25m guest room renovation in 2015.

    The recent Tower Rooms refresh was by the award winning design team Yabu Pushelberg.

  • Health & Wellness

    Yes and Yes. The pool still features paint doodles by the great British artist David Hockney that date back to the 80s.

  • Restaurant

    Many many options for dining + drinking - the best bets being Public for dinner, The Spare Room for drinks and the Tropicana Cafe for poolside breakfast.

    In addition to The Spare Room, there's also the plush, almost hidden Library Bar where bartenders fashion cocktails with fresh fruits & herbs.
