It doesn't get more LA iconic than palm trees, blue sky and a classic neon sign.
California King, naturally.
The suites have a nice apartment-esque layout, with a totally separate (and vv spacious) living & dining area.
Pink poufs deserve a closeup, always.
Bathrooms repping a nice combo of marble + Margiela.
The Tropicana poolside bar- with a kitschy 60s feel and covetable palm leaf wallpaper.
Having a chat with this ol' Chap who seems to know a thing or two about Hollywood.
Vintage bowling while slow sipping whiskey + a DJ who drops Lisa Lisa...all reasons that staying here means you don't have to go out to have a night out.
Night moves by the Hockney adorned pool.
A peek into Public. The Roosevelt's signature restaurant has a modern brasserie vibe and serves up fine comfort food. (The bolognese was beyond...take that, Chateau).

There's really so much to do under their roof it's a great place to stay and wander from the room to dinner to drinks to bowling, to more drinks...you see where this is going.

They bring in quite cool programming. While we were there LA's inaugural Vulture Fest was happening and we got to catch a talk by Transparent's Jill Solloway.

While the historic architecture is charming, double paned windows weren't a thing in the 20s hence lots of street noise from bustling Hollywood Blvd creeping into your room at night. If you like it super quiet, ask for a room that doesn't face the tourist madness below.

Yes and Yes. The pool still features paint doodles by the great British artist David Hockney that date back to the 80s.

Many many options for dining + drinking - the best bets being Public for dinner, The Spare Room for drinks and the Tropicana Cafe for poolside breakfast.

In addition to The Spare Room, there's also the plush, almost hidden Library Bar where bartenders fashion cocktails with fresh fruits & herbs.
