Highs & Lows
-
The gardens — immaculately pruned, and encompassing almost every period and style in gardening history. You could spend hours exploring.
-
The spa — lush treatments and the indoor-outdoor pool are definite highlights of the property.
-
Vegetarian friendly options — food was all round delicious at The Newt, who grow a lot of their produce on site. Staff are super happy to cater to any and all dietary requirements, and The Garden Cafe has an almost entirely vegetarian menu.
-
Design — the stunning Hapsden House combines period features with contemporary colors, furniture, and textures. Bedrooms ooze luxury, with deep bathtubs and king-size beds.
-
Complimentary tea and scones every afternoon for all hotel guests — what's not to love?
-
The amount of things to do — when you're done soaking at the spa and exploring the gardens, get involved with bee keeping and deer spotting, or tour the onsite cyder press.
-
Everything must be booked in advance to avoid disappointment, including all meals and activities. This might take the spontaneity out of things a bit — and if you try cram too much in, you'll find yourself rushing through everything rather than relaxing.
-
The gardens are open for day visitors as well, which can mean they're sometimes quite busy. However, day guests aren't allowed inside the hotel itself.
